The BLDC fan motor relies on precise electronic commutation signals, and the control board monitors the motor's response signal to confirm it is spinning at the correct speed. When that signal is absent or abnormal for the defined timeout period, the board triggers this error to prevent further damage and alert the user to a cooling system fault.

The refrigerator fan is responsible for circulating cold air from the evaporator coils throughout the fresh food compartment. If this fan stops operating, fresh food temperatures will rise even if the freezer remains cold, since cooling capacity is no longer being distributed. Common hardware causes include ice accumulation around the fan blade preventing rotation, a seized motor bearing causing the rotor to lock, or a wiring harness issue on the CON6 connector that disrupts the voltage supply or signal lines. Diagnostics should begin by opening the freezer door, checking for audible fan operation, and manually attempting to rotate the fan blade to detect physical obstruction or mechanical binding.
