LG Washer Error Code 4C2

The 4C2 code signals a water supply check failure on your LG washer. It appears when the machine detects water temperature exceeding safe limits for the selected cycle, specifically above 70°C during a dry cycle or above 50°C in Wool or Lingerie courses. It can also be triggered by a disconnected PCB terminal, a folded or torn transparent hose, or reversed hot and cold inlet hoses.

It is not recommended to continue running cycles while this error is present. The code indicates that water entering the machine may be dangerously hot for the selected cycle, which can damage delicate fabrics like wool or lingerie. Running the washer without addressing the root cause also risks stressing internal components over time. Resolve the underlying hose or temperature issue before resuming normal operation.

Repair costs vary depending on the root cause. If the fix is simply reconnecting a terminal or unkinkling a hose, there may be no parts cost at all. Replacing a damaged transparent hose is generally a low-cost repair, typically in the range of $10 to $40 for the part. If a water temperature sensor or PCB component needs replacement, combined parts and labor costs can range from $100 to $300 or more depending on your location and service provider.

Start by inspecting the transparent hose at the detergent drawer for any kinks, folds, or tears and straighten or replace it as needed. Then check the hot and cold water hoses at the rear of the machine to confirm they are connected to the correct inlet ports. Also verify that the PCB terminal connecting the drain hose path to the detergent drawer is fully seated. If these steps do not resolve the issue, the incoming water temperature or the water temperature sensor should be evaluated.

A reset may temporarily clear the 4C2 code, but it will return if the underlying problem is not corrected. The error is tied to detected conditions such as high water temperature, a disconnected terminal, or a damaged hose, so the fault will reappear as soon as the same cycle runs again. Address the physical cause first, then reset the machine to confirm the error does not come back.
