The C1 code indicates a water level sensor fault. The washer uses a pressure sensor and a small connected hose to detect how much water is in the drum, and C1 appears when that signal is missing or abnormal. Causes range from a blocked or disconnected hose to a failed sensor or control board issue.

You should not continue running the washer while C1 is active. The water level sensor is a critical safety component, and a fault can lead to overfilling or the machine running without adequate water, both of which can cause damage. Stop use until the fault is diagnosed and corrected.

Costs vary depending on the root cause. If the fix is a reattached hose or connector, there may be no parts cost at all. A replacement water level sensor typically runs in the range of $20 to $60 for the part.
