The dE2 code on an LG washer signals a door error related to the door not being properly secured during a cycle. It most commonly occurs during the Boil wash program, where rising internal pressure can push the door away from the lock. It can also be caused by incorrect or damaged door lock switch terminal connections, wiring leakage, or a fault in the main PCB door sensing circuit.

You should not continue running the washer while the dE2 error is active. The code indicates the door lock circuit is reporting a fault, which means the washer cannot confirm the door is safely secured. Running a cycle under those conditions risks water leakage or injury if the door opens during operation.

Repair costs depend on the specific cause. Correcting a wiring connection issue may cost relatively little if only labor is involved. Replacing the door lock switch typically falls in the range of $50 to $150 for parts and labor. A main PCB replacement is the most expensive possibility, generally ranging from $150 to $400 or more depending on the model and service rates in your area.
