The Door Open Error means the washer detected an open lid during intermittent spin, normal spin, or reservation processing. The machine stops the cycle as a safety measure and signals the fault with the Wash and Spin LEDs blinking together and a continuous alarm tone. The error is tied to a magnetic sensing system: a magnet in the Lid-B component must align with a sensor in the machine body for the control board to confirm the lid is closed.

You should not bypass or ignore this error during spin cycles. The lid interlock exists to prevent injury from the spinning drum. If the lid is genuinely closed and the error is caused by a faulty sensor or missing magnet, the machine will refuse to spin, which means it is not functional but also not creating an immediate hazard. Repair the underlying cause before resuming normal use.

If the fix is simply closing the lid, there is no cost. Replacing the Lid-B component, which contains the required magnet, typically costs between $15 and $60 for the part depending on the model. If a technician is needed for diagnosis and replacement, total repair costs including labor generally range from $80 to $200.

Start by simply closing the lid firmly and attempting to restart the cycle. If the error returns with the lid closed, inspect the Lid-B component for the presence of its embedded magnet.
