E-05 on an LG washer means the time you set for combination mode exceeds the maximum allowed limit of 45 minutes. The control board detects this out-of-range setting and displays E-05 to prevent the machine from operating outside its designed parameters. This is a programming input error, not a mechanical failure. Pressing the Cancel key clears the error so you can re-enter a valid time setting.

The E-05 error prevents the cycle from starting, so the washer is not operating while the code is active. There is no safety hazard associated with this error. The machine is simply blocking an out-of-range input. Cancel the error and re-enter your settings correctly before running a cycle.
