E-27 on an LG washer indicates a temperature sensor open circuit error. The washer's control board is not receiving a valid signal from the temperature sensor, which monitors water temperature during cycles. This is typically caused by a faulty sensor, a disconnected wiring connector, or a damaged harness between the sensor and the PCB. The machine stops operation to prevent running without temperature feedback.

It is not recommended to run the washer while E-27 is active. Without a functioning temperature sensor, the control board cannot accurately regulate water temperature during wash cycles, which could result in improper washing performance or potential overheating if the machine has a heater element. The error code is designed to halt operation until the fault is resolved.

A reset may temporarily clear the E-27 code, but it will return as soon as the control board checks the temperature sensor circuit again and finds the open condition.
