The E-29 code on an LG washer signals a temperature sensor open error. This means the control board is detecting an open (broken) circuit in the temperature sensor circuit and cannot get a valid temperature reading. The washer stops operation as a precaution until the fault is resolved.

A reset may temporarily clear the E-29 code, but the error will return if the underlying fault is not corrected. To reset, unplug the washer for a few minutes and then plug it back in. If the code reappears promptly, the temperature sensor circuit requires physical inspection and repair before the washer will operate normally.
