LG Washer Error Code E-33

E-33 on an LG washer signals a weight sensor error. The control board has detected that the weight sensor's HEX output value stayed below 14 for 30 consecutive seconds during operation. This means the sensor is not sending a strong enough signal for the washer to detect the drum load. The washer will not continue the cycle until the fault is resolved.

It is not recommended to continue using the washer while the E-33 error is active. The washer relies on the weight sensor to calibrate water levels and cycle settings correctly. Running cycles without accurate load detection can result in improper wash performance or potential mechanical stress on components.

If the fix is simply reseating the turntable or cleaning the sensor area, there is no parts cost involved. If the weight sensor itself needs to be replaced, parts and labor costs typically range from around $75 to $200 depending on the specific model and local labor rates. Control board replacement, if needed, can cost significantly more, often in the range of $150 to $400 or higher.

Start by checking that the turntable is properly seated over its rollers, as misalignment is the most common cause. Also inspect the area around the weight sensor for any debris, detergent buildup, or lint that could be interfering with the sensor. If repositioning the turntable and cleaning the sensor area do not clear the error, inspect the wiring harness for damage and consider replacing the weight sensor if it has failed.

A basic power reset may temporarily clear the error code, but it will return if the underlying issue is not addressed. If the turntable is misaligned or there is debris on the sensor, the fault will reappear as soon as the sensor begins operating again. A lasting fix requires identifying and correcting the physical or electrical cause of the low sensor signal.
