LG Washer Error Code E-41

E-41 on an LG washer indicates an open circuit error in the Easy or pH sensor. The control board is not receiving any signal from that sensor, which means the circuit is broken. This can result from a disconnected connector, a failed sensor, damaged wiring, or in rare cases a faulty control board.

It is not recommended to continue running wash cycles while E-41 is active. The error indicates the washer is not receiving valid data from the Easy or pH sensor, which means the machine cannot properly monitor or adjust the wash conditions it relies on that sensor for. Continued use without resolving the fault could lead to suboptimal wash results or additional issues.

A power reset, such as unplugging the washer for a few minutes, may temporarily clear the code, but it will return if the underlying open circuit condition is not repaired. The E-41 code is triggered by a hardware fault that the control board detects at startup or during operation, so the error will reappear until the sensor connection, wiring, or sensor itself is physically repaired or replaced.

Many E-41 cases can be resolved by a knowledgeable DIYer. Start by unplugging the washer, locating the sensor connector, and firmly reseating it at both the sensor and PCB ends. If reseating the connector does not clear the error, testing the sensor for continuity with a multimeter and inspecting the wiring harness are the next logical steps before considering a part replacement.

If only a connector needs reseating or cleaning, the repair can cost nothing beyond your time. A replacement Easy or pH sensor typically runs in the range of $20 to $60 for the part. If the wiring harness requires replacement, parts and labor together can range from $80 to $200 depending on the specific model and service rates in your area. A main PCB replacement, if needed, is the most expensive possibility, often ranging from $150 to $400 or more.
