The E2 code on an LG washer indicates a switch error, also referred to as a main relay error. It is triggered when the Power button is continuously pressed for more than 12 seconds or any other button is held for more than 30 seconds. The cause is typically a stuck tact switch, control panel deformation, or an overtightened sub PBA screw forcing a switch into permanent contact.

You should not attempt to run a wash cycle while the E2 error is active, as the washer has halted operation due to a detected control fault. Using the machine without resolving the underlying cause could lead to unintended behavior or further damage to the control board. Resolve the stuck switch or panel issue before resuming normal use.
