The H7 code on an LG washer signals a heater dry error. It means the washer detected that the temperature inside the drum did not rise more than 3 degrees Celsius within 8 minutes of the dry heater being activated. The machine stops the cycle to prevent running a drying sequence with no actual heat output. The dry heater element is the most commonly identified cause.

The washer will not complete a drying cycle while H7 is active, but the wash functions are generally unaffected. You can continue using the wash-only cycles safely. However, do not attempt to bypass the heater fault or ignore it long-term, as underlying wiring faults or failed thermal protection components could pose a risk if left unaddressed.

Resetting the washer by unplugging it for a few minutes may temporarily clear the H7 code from the display. However, since the fault is caused by a physically failed or non-functioning component, the error will return as soon as the washer attempts a drying cycle again and detects no temperature rise.
