The nF1 code on an LG washer indicates a water supply error related to water temperature during delicate cycles. Specifically, it means the washer has detected water entering at a temperature above 50°C during the Wool or Lingerie courses, or through the dry valve during a dry cycle. The most common cause is reversed hot and cold water supply hoses connected at the back of the machine.

The nF1 error itself is a protective feature designed to stop the cycle before hot water can damage delicate fabrics like wool or lingerie. The machine halts operation when it detects unsafe water temperatures, so there is no immediate safety hazard to the user. However, the underlying cause, such as reversed hoses or a faulty inlet valve, should be corrected before running further cycles.

If the fix is simply reconnecting reversed water hoses, there is no parts cost involved. If the water inlet valve requires replacement, parts and labor typically range from $80 to $200 depending on your location and the service provider. Replacing a faulty temperature sensor is generally less expensive, often falling in the $50 to $150 range for parts and labor combined.

Start by turning off the water supply and inspecting the hot and cold hose connections at the back of the washer. Make sure the cold water hose leads to the cold water tap and the hot water hose leads to the hot water tap. If hoses are correctly connected, check whether your home water heater is set to an excessively high temperature. A reset may temporarily clear the nF1 error display, but the code will return as soon as the washer runs a Wool or Lingerie cycle and detects water above 50°C again. The underlying cause must be corrected first. Check hose connections and supply water temperature before attempting to reset and restart the machine.
