SPIN Er means the washer detected an unbalanced load or uneven water distribution during the spin cycle and stopped to prevent excessive vibration or damage. The control system monitors drum behavior during spin and halts the cycle if it cannot achieve safe rotation. Redistributing the laundry, verifying the machine is level, and ensuring the tub has drained completely are the first steps to resolve it.

It is not recommended to force the machine through a spin cycle while the error is active, as an unbalanced drum spinning at high RPM can cause the washer to move aggressively, damage internal components, or harm surrounding surfaces. The washer's control system stops the cycle specifically to prevent this kind of damage. Address the underlying cause before resuming use.

If the fix is simply releveling the machine or redistributing the load, there is no parts cost involved. If suspension rods, dampers, or springs need replacement, parts and labor costs typically range from around $75 to $250 depending on the specific components and local labor rates. A drain pump replacement, if poor drainage is the root cause, generally falls in a similar cost range.

Start by opening the door and redistributing the laundry evenly around the drum, then check that the machine is sitting level on the floor by adjusting the leveling feet.
