Samsung Microwave Error Code E-35

E-35 is a weight sensor error indicating that the internal calculated value of A, produced by the weight sensor system, is returning a negative result. This falls outside the acceptable measurement range and prevents the microwave from using weight-based auto-cook functions. It is most commonly triggered by a mispositioned turntable tray or roller ring rather than a failed sensor.

A power reset, such as unplugging the microwave for a minute and plugging it back in, may temporarily clear the error code. However, if the underlying cause is a mispositioned turntable, debris, or a damaged sensor, the E-35 code will return once the microwave attempts to use the weight sensor again. Addressing the root cause is necessary for a permanent fix.

If the fix is simply reseating the turntable or roller ring, there is no parts cost. Replacing a damaged roller ring typically runs in the range of a few dollars to around twenty dollars for the part. If the weight sensor itself needs replacement, parts and labor combined could range from roughly fifty to one hundred fifty dollars or more, depending on the model and service provider.

Start by removing the glass turntable tray and the roller ring beneath it. Inspect both for cracks, debris, or misalignment, clean the cavity floor, and reseat the roller ring and tray carefully. If the error clears, the issue was mechanical. If E-35 returns after repositioning everything correctly, the weight sensor or its wiring will need further inspection.

The E-35 error specifically affects the weight sensor system, which is used for auto-cook and sensor-cook features. Basic manual cooking functions may still operate, but it is not advisable to rely on the microwave fully until the fault is diagnosed. If the turntable is loose or damaged, operating the microwave risks further damage to components or uneven heating.
