C-24 on a Samsung oven means the control board has detected a short circuit in the meat probe sensor circuit while the oven is operating. The meat probe should measure approximately 50K ohms of resistance at room temperature. When the board reads a value far below that threshold, it flags a short and displays C-24. The fault points to the probe itself, the wire harness, or the connector on the main PCB.

It is best to avoid using the oven until C-24 is resolved. A shorted probe circuit can cause the control board to receive inaccurate temperature data, which may affect cooking performance or prevent the oven from operating correctly. Continuing to run the oven with an active fault also risks additional stress on the main PCB. Disconnect the meat probe and address the fault before resuming normal use.

If the meat probe itself is the cause, replacement probes typically cost in the range of $20 to $60 depending on the specific model. If the wire harness requires replacement, parts generally fall in the $15 to $50 range. A main PCB replacement, needed only in cases where the board connector or circuitry is damaged, is considerably more expensive, often ranging from $150 to $350 or more for parts alone. If the probe reads a short or near-zero resistance instead of approximately 50K ohms, replace the probe. If the probe tests fine, inspect the harness and PCB connector for physical damage before considering a board replacement.

Disconnecting power briefly may temporarily clear the display, but C-24 will return as soon as the oven powers on and the control board re-detects the short in the probe circuit. A reset does not repair the underlying fault. The error will only clear permanently once the shorted probe, harness, or connector issue is corrected.
