Error code 01 on the Thermador WFK 2401 indicates a water filling failure. The appliance attempted to fill with water but did not detect sufficient water entering within the expected timeframe. This fault points to an issue in the water supply system, including the supply valve, inlet hose, filters, or the inlet valve itself.

Error code 01 is not a safety hazard in itself. It simply means the appliance stopped its cycle because it could not fill with water. The unit will not operate in this condition, which prevents it from running without adequate water supply. Address the underlying cause before resuming use.

If the fix involves simply opening a supply valve or cleaning the inlet hose filters, there is no parts cost involved. Replacing a water inlet hose typically costs in the range of $15 to $40 for the part. If the internal water inlet valve has failed, parts and labor combined can range from $100 to $300 depending on the specific valve and your location.

Start by confirming the water supply valve is fully open and that household water pressure is between 14.5 and 145 psi. Next, disconnect the inlet hose and check the mesh filter screens at the connection point for sediment or mineral buildup, rinsing them clean if needed. If the supply and filters check out, inspect the inlet hose for kinks. If the fault persists after all external checks, the water inlet valve solenoid may need to be tested and replaced.

A reset may temporarily clear the error code display, but the fault will return immediately if the root cause has not been resolved. The appliance will attempt to fill again and trigger code 01 as soon as it detects the same no-fill condition. Always address the water supply issue first before attempting a reset.
