You should stop using the dryer until the cause is resolved. The E:12 code indicates the burner zone is experiencing repeated rapid overheating, which is a fire risk, particularly when the cause is a lint blockage. Lint is highly combustible, and a restricted, overheating dryer is one of the most common sources of home dryer fires.

If the fix only requires cleaning the lint filter and exhaust duct, the cost is essentially nothing beyond your own time.
