Whirlpool Washer Error Code 19

Error code 19 is a UI State Timeout fault. It appears when a wash cycle has been paused for more than 24 hours, or when the pressure sensor detects water measuring more than 0.5 inches inside the tub while the washer has been off for over 24 hours. The most common hardware cause is a water inlet valve that is not closing fully and allowing water to slowly accumulate in the drum.

A reset may temporarily clear the code, but if an underlying hardware issue such as a leaking inlet valve or a faulty pressure sensor is present, the code will return. If the error was caused only by a cycle being paused for more than 24 hours, cancelling the cycle and restarting should resolve it without further action.

If the fix involves replacing a leaking water inlet valve, parts and labor costs typically range from around 75 dollars to 200 dollars depending on your location and the specific model. A pressure sensor replacement is generally in the 50 dollar to 150 dollar range for parts and labor. If the issue is only a paused cycle or a disconnected hose, there may be no parts cost involved at all.

Start by checking the water inlet valves for leakage, as this is the most common cause. Turn off the water supply to the washer and inspect whether water continues to drip into the tub. If the valves are leaking, they will need to be replaced. Also inspect the pressure sensor hose for kinks or disconnections, and if the error appeared simply because a cycle was paused too long, cancel the cycle and restart it.

A leaking inlet valve, which is the primary cause of this code, can result in water accumulating in the tub or potentially overflowing over time if left unaddressed. It is advisable to turn off the water supply to the washer until the valve has been inspected and repaired. There is no electrical hazard directly associated with this code, but water accumulation in and around the appliance should always be taken seriously.
