Whirlpool Washer Error Code F32
No fill
No fill – water level does not change for a period of time, or water is present but main control does not detect the water level changing.
First step from the service manual
Make sure water supply is connected and turned on. Check for low water pressure, plugged hose screens, and proper drain hose installation. See TEST #2: Valves, page 13.
The complete diagnostic procedure includes additional test steps, resistance specifications, wiring diagram references, and component test points.

What F32 means on a Whirlpool washer
The F32 error code on a Whirlpool washer indicates a no-fill condition, meaning the water level in the tub is not rising as expected during the fill cycle. The main control board monitors the water level through a pressure switch or pressure sensor. When the control detects that the water level has not changed within a defined time window, or when water is present but the sensor signal is not registering a level change, the control board triggers F32 and halts the cycle to prevent damage.
The root cause can fall into two broad categories: a physical failure of the water supply reaching the tub, or a sensing failure where water is actually entering but the control board cannot confirm it. Physical supply problems include closed or low-pressure water valves, kinked inlet hoses, or plugged inlet hose screens that restrict flow. A siphoning condition caused by improper drain hose installation can also cause water to exit the tub as fast as it enters, preventing the water level from rising.
On the sensing side, a faulty water level pressure switch, a blocked or kinked air dome tube connected to the pressure switch, or a malfunctioning main control board can all cause F32 even when water flow is adequate. The inlet valve solenoids themselves can also fail, preventing the valve from opening fully or at all. Diagnostic testing should follow the valve test procedure outlined in the technical service documentation to isolate whether the problem is in the supply path, the pressure sensing circuit, or the control itself.

Common causes of F32
- 01
Closed or low water supply
Wiring / connectionThe hot or cold water shutoff valves behind the washer may be fully or partially closed, or household water pressure may be too low to trigger proper fill. Confirm both valves are completely open and that water pressure at the supply is adequate.
- 02
Plugged inlet hose screens
Wiring / connectionFine mesh screens at the connection points between the inlet hoses and the water inlet valve can accumulate sediment and restrict or block water flow entirely. Remove the hoses and inspect the screens for debris, cleaning or replacing them as needed.
- 03
Improper drain hose installation causing siphoning
Wiring / connectionIf the drain hose is inserted too far into the standpipe or is positioned too low, water can siphon out of the tub as quickly as it enters, preventing the water level from rising. The drain hose must be installed at the correct height with a proper air gap.
- 04
Faulty water inlet valve
Part replacementThe water inlet valve solenoid may have failed open, closed, or partially, preventing adequate water flow into the tub even when the supply is good. Testing the valve for proper electrical continuity and mechanical operation will confirm this fault.
- 05
Defective water level pressure switch or blocked air dome tube
Part replacementThe pressure switch detects the water level by sensing air pressure through a small tube connected to the tub. If this tube is kinked or clogged, or if the pressure switch itself has failed, the control board will not register a rising water level even when the tub is filling normally.
