Wolf ovens are designed to operate within a specific voltage range, and when the incoming line voltage climbs above the upper threshold of 265 volts, the control system logs this fault to protect internal electronics and heating components from potential damage. The control board continuously monitors supply voltage as part of its self-diagnostic routine, and a reading above this limit triggers the 3C20 code.

The most common source of this condition is a problem at the utility level or within the home's electrical panel rather than a fault with the oven itself. Utility voltage fluctuations, particularly during periods of low grid load such as late nights or weekends, can cause line voltage to rise above normal levels. Loose or corroded neutral connections at the panel or at the wall receptacle can also create voltage imbalances that push one leg of a 240-volt circuit abnormally high.
