Wolf Range Error Code 3221

Error 3221 means the control board is detecting a resistance reading below 3049 ohms on the right oven RTD circuit. The RTD is the temperature sensing probe inside the oven cavity. This reading indicates the sensor is either broken internally or the wiring connected to it is shorted or incorrectly configured. The oven will not operate normally until the fault is corrected.

The right oven should not be used while this error is active. Because the control cannot accurately monitor oven temperature with a faulty RTD circuit, it cannot regulate heat correctly or protect against overheating. Using the oven in this condition is unsafe and could result in overcooked food, damage to oven components, or a fire hazard.

Disconnect the RTD sensor from its wiring harness and use a multimeter to measure the sensor's resistance directly at its terminals. If the resistance reads abnormally low at room temperature, the sensor itself is faulty and needs replacement. If the sensor reads correctly when isolated, inspect the wiring harness for shorts, damaged insulation, or miswired connectors between the sensor and the control board.

Resetting the control by cycling the power may temporarily clear the display, but the error will return as soon as the control re-checks the RTD circuit and finds the resistance still below 3049 ohms. A reset does not fix the underlying sensor or wiring fault. The root cause must be diagnosed and repaired before the oven will operate reliably.

Repair costs depend on the root cause. If only the wiring needs to be reseated or corrected, labor costs alone may apply, typically in the range of $100 to $200 for a service call. Replacing the RTD sensor commonly costs between $150 and $350 including parts and labor. If the control board is the cause, total repair costs could range from $400 to $700 or more depending on parts pricing and technician rates.
