Error code 31 on an Electrolux induction range indicates an internal generator error related to sync communication between the induction housing assembly and the left side cooking zones. The induction generator circuit board is responsible for producing and regulating the high-frequency alternating current that powers the induction coils beneath the cooktop surface. When this board loses synchronization or fails to properly communicate with the left side cooking zones, the control system detects the fault and triggers error code 31 to protect the unit from further damage.

The left side generator circuit board is a dedicated power electronics module that drives the induction coils on the left portion of the cooktop. Synchronization errors can arise from loose or damaged wiring harness connections between the board and the main control, corrupted signal transmission along the communication lines, or internal component failure within the generator board itself. Because induction cooking relies on precise timing and frequency control, even minor disruptions to the sync signal will cause the system to shut down the affected zones and display this fault code.

Diagnosis should begin with a thorough inspection of all cables and connectors associated with the left side generator circuit board, checking for loose pins, corrosion, burn marks, or damaged insulation.
