What E76 means on a Electrolux range
The E76 error code on an Electrolux range indicates a communication fault specific to the right cooking zones. This means the user interface board (UIB) has lost reliable data communication with the filter board, which serves as an intermediary controller for the right-side burner or heating elements. The fault is detected on the signal path between UIB connector P8 and filter board connector X14. When communication across this path breaks down, the control system cannot send or receive the signals needed to operate the right cooking zones, so the range logs E76 and may disable those zones as a safety measure.
The most common root cause is a loose, corroded, or damaged wiring harness connecting P8 to X14. Vibration during normal use, heat cycling, and age can cause connector pins to back out or develop high-resistance contacts that interrupt the digital communication signal. In some cases the harness insulation becomes brittle or a wire develops an intermittent open or short circuit along its length. Because the fault is zone-specific (right side only), problems with the main power supply or a completely failed UIB are less likely culprits than localized harness or connector issues.
If reseating the harness at both connectors does not clear the fault, the filter board itself should be evaluated. A failed filter board will prevent communication from being established regardless of harness condition. The UIB is a secondary suspect if the filter board tests within spec. Proper diagnosis requires confirming continuity through each conductor in the harness and checking that the connectors are fully seated with no bent or corroded pins before condemning any board.

Common causes of E76
- 01
Loose or unseated harness connector
Wiring / connectionThe wiring harness between UIB connector P8 and filter board connector X14 may have worked loose over time. Reseating both ends of the harness firmly is the first step and resolves many E76 faults.
- 02
Corroded or damaged connector pins
Wiring / connectionHeat cycling and moisture can cause pin corrosion or physical damage at the P8 or X14 connector, creating high resistance that breaks the communication signal. Inspect each pin closely for discoloration, pitting, or deformation.
- 03
Damaged wiring harness
Part replacementA wire in the harness between P8 and X14 may have an open circuit, short circuit, or damaged insulation caused by heat, pinching, or rodent activity. Continuity testing each conductor will identify a broken wire.
- 04
Failed filter board
Part replacementIf the harness and connectors test good, the filter board itself may have an internal failure preventing communication with the UIB. Replacing the filter board is the next step after ruling out harness issues.
- 05
Failed user interface board (UIB)
Part replacementA fault within the UIB can prevent it from maintaining communication through connector P8. This is a less common cause and should be considered only after the harness and filter board have been evaluated.
