The F022 code on an Electrolux range signals a communication failure between the oven user interface board and the oven relay board. These two boards must exchange signals for the oven to function properly. When that communication is interrupted, the oven triggers F022 to alert you that something in that control circuit needs attention. The cause can range from a loose connector to a failed control board.

A power reset, done by unplugging the range or switching off the circuit breaker for a few minutes, may temporarily clear the F022 code. However, if the underlying communication problem still exists, the error will return once the oven is powered back on. A reset alone does not fix wiring faults or failed boards.

Repair costs vary depending on the root cause. If only a wiring harness or connector needs to be reseated or replaced, costs are typically on the lower end of the repair spectrum. Replacing the oven relay board or user interface board generally costs more, with parts alone ranging from roughly $80 to $300 or more depending on the specific model, plus labor if a technician performs the work.

Some causes of F022 are DIY-friendly, such as reseating a loose wiring harness or connector at J21 on the relay board. However, diagnosing whether the fault lies in the user interface board, the relay board, or the wiring requires a multimeter and familiarity with electrical testing. If you are not comfortable working with AC voltage or handling control boards, it is safer to contact a qualified technician.

Operating the oven with an active F022 error is not recommended. Because the user interface board and relay board are not communicating properly, the oven may not respond to controls accurately, which could lead to unpredictable heating behavior. It is best to stop using the oven until the fault is diagnosed and repaired.
