Frigidaire Oven Error Code LOC

LOC on a Frigidaire oven means the Oven Lockout feature is active. The control panel is disabled and the door is locked to prevent the oven from being turned on. This is a built-in childproofing and safety feature, not a malfunction. It can be deactivated by pressing and holding the Clear/Off button for 3 seconds.

When LOC is displayed, the oven will not operate at all, so there is no immediate safety risk. The feature is intentionally designed to prevent the oven from being started. Once you deactivate the lockout using the Clear/Off button, the oven will return to normal operation.

In most cases there is no repair cost at all, since LOC is usually resolved by holding the Clear/Off button for 3 seconds. If a faulty keypad is to blame, keypad replacement parts typically range from $30 to $100 depending on the model, plus labor if a technician is needed. A control board replacement, if required, generally costs between $150 and $350 in parts alone.

To fix the LOC code, press and hold the Clear/Off button on the control panel for approximately 3 seconds. The display should change and the door lock should disengage. If the code returns immediately or the button does not respond, the keypad or control board may require further inspection.

A standard power reset by unplugging the oven or tripping the circuit breaker may not permanently clear the LOC code, because the lockout state can be retained in the control board memory. The correct method is to press and hold Clear/Off for 3 seconds directly on the control panel. If that does not work, then a power cycle combined with the button sequence can be attempted.
