The flashing 'F' code on a Frigidaire range indicates an electronic surface control error. It appears at startup or after a power outage when one or more surface controls were left in the ON position. On induction models, it can also indicate a cookware-related fault such as a pot that has boiled dry on one of the induction zones.

The 'F' error is itself a safety feature. The control system intentionally locks out operation and displays the fault to prevent a surface element from resuming heating at an unintended level after a power interruption. You should not attempt to bypass the error. Addressing the root cause by turning all controls off or removing problematic cookware is the appropriate response before using the cooktop again.

In most cases, the 'F' error requires no parts and no paid repair since it is cleared by turning controls off and cycling power.
