The self-clean cycle raises oven temperatures to extremely high levels, often between 800 and 900 degrees Fahrenheit, to incinerate food residue inside the oven cavity. Running surface burners simultaneously during this process creates a combined heat load that the range is designed to prevent. The interlock exists as a safety and performance measure to ensure the appliance operates within its intended thermal limits during the cleaning cycle.

Because this code is a condition-based alert rather than a fault caused by a failing component, it does not indicate any damaged hardware in the majority of cases. The control board, burner switches, and associated wiring are all functioning correctly when this message appears.
