AL07 indicates a turbine fault where the main PCB has detected water in the tank via the pressure switch but received no fill signal from the water meter turbine. This conflict between the two signals causes the control board to flag the error. It most commonly points to a damaged, disconnected, or wet turbine rather than an actual water leak or overfill event.

It is not advisable to continue running the dishwasher with AL07 active. Because the control board cannot accurately track how much water is entering the tub, it cannot properly manage the fill cycle, which could result in underfilling or potential overfilling. Resolve the fault before running further wash cycles.

Repair costs vary depending on the root cause. If the fix is simply reseating a connector, there may be no parts cost, though a service call fee typically applies if a technician attends. Replacing a faulty water meter turbine generally involves parts costs in the range of $20 to $70 USD depending on the model, plus labour if professionally fitted. If the main PCB is at fault, costs rise considerably, often falling in the $100 to $300 USD range for parts and labour combined.

Some causes of AL07 are straightforward to address at home, such as reseating a loose turbine connector or checking whether water was accidentally poured into the tub. However, if the turbine itself is physically damaged or the wiring harness is broken, replacement parts will be needed and the repair may require disassembly of the water inlet assembly. If you are comfortable working around appliance wiring and connectors, the connector and cable checks are reasonable DIY starting points.

A reset may temporarily clear the AL07 code, but if the underlying cause such as a faulty turbine, damaged wiring, or disconnected connector has not been addressed, the error will return during the next fill cycle when the PCB again detects the signal conflict. A reset is useful for confirming whether the fault is persistent but is not a repair in itself.
