LG Air Conditioner Error Code CH06

CH06 indicates an open or short circuit in the outlet pipe temperature sensor inside the indoor unit. The sensor uses resistance changes to report refrigerant pipe temperature to the control board. When the resistance falls outside the acceptable range in either direction, the board flags CH06 and shuts down normal operation to prevent damage.

A power reset may temporarily clear the code, but CH06 will return if the underlying sensor or wiring fault is still present. The code is triggered by a continuous out-of-range resistance reading, so the only way to permanently clear it is to repair or replace the faulty sensor or wiring.

If only the outlet pipe sensor needs replacement, parts and labor typically range from around $75 to $200 depending on the specific model and local labor rates. If the indoor control board is at fault, repair costs can range from $150 to $400 or more. Getting a diagnostic call from a certified technician first is the most cost-effective approach before purchasing parts.

The unit will typically shut down or restrict operation when CH06 is active because the control board cannot safely manage refrigerant flow without accurate outlet pipe temperature data.
