The bC2 code means the dishwasher has detected that a touch button was held continuously for 30 seconds or more, or that communication between the Sub PBA and the touch button PBA has failed. It is a control panel fault code related to the user interface electronics. The first step is to check whether anything is physically pressing on the control panel and to inspect the wiring connections between the two boards.

A bC2 error typically prevents normal operation since the control panel input is being read as faulty. Attempting to run cycles while this code is active is generally not recommended, as the dishwasher may not respond correctly to control inputs. Resolve the underlying cause before resuming normal use.

If the issue is simply an object pressing on the panel or a loose connector, the repair costs nothing beyond your time. If a touch button PBA or Sub PBA needs to be replaced, parts typically range from around 30 to 150 dollars depending on the model, with professional labor adding 80 to 200 dollars or more. Getting a diagnosis before ordering parts is advisable since either board could be the cause.

Start by removing any objects that may be resting against the control panel and drying off any moisture on the surface. If the code returns, open the door panel to inspect the wiring harness connections between the Sub PBA and the touch button PBA, reseating any loose connectors. If connections are secure and the error persists, one of the two boards may need to be replaced.
