The 1E code means the circulation pump detected a low water level inside the dishwasher tub for at least 1 continuous second during an active wash cycle. The control board attempts to correct this by supplying additional water, but if the level remains insufficient, the error persists and the cycle is halted. Common causes include connection problems at the BLDC pump, a restricted water inlet valve, or a faulty water level sensor.

A reset may temporarily clear the 1E code, but if the underlying cause is not resolved, the error will return as soon as the next wash cycle begins and the low water condition is detected again. To permanently clear the fault, the root cause such as a wiring issue, supply restriction, or failed component must be identified and corrected.

Repair costs vary depending on the cause. If the fix is simply reseating a loose connector or clearing a clogged inlet screen, there may be little to no parts cost. Replacing a water inlet valve typically runs in the range of $25 to $75 for the part, while a new BLDC circulation pump can cost $80 to $200 or more depending on the model. Adding professional labor can bring total repair costs to $150 to $400 in many cases.

Start by checking the electrical connectors on the BLDC circulation pump for looseness, corrosion, or damage and reseat them firmly. Next, inspect the water supply hose for kinks and check the inlet valve filter screen for debris. If the water supply path is clear and connections are solid, the inlet valve or water level sensor may need testing and replacement.

It is not recommended to continue running the dishwasher while the 1E error is active. The circulation pump is designed to operate with adequate water surrounding its impeller, and running it dry or with very low water levels can cause the pump to overheat and sustain permanent damage. Address the fault before resuming normal use.
