The dC1 code means the inverter motor control board (Inverter Micom) detected a door-open condition while the dishwasher was running in Smart Install mode or manual mode. It is a safety code that stops operation when the door is not properly secured. Closing the door and pressing Start will typically clear the code and restart the cycle from the beginning.

According to Samsung diagnostic procedures, closing the door and pressing the Start key is the specified method to turn off the dC1 check code and return the dishwasher to its initial state. A full power reset may also clear the display, but if the underlying cause is a bad latch or faulty switch, the code will return as soon as the cycle tries to run again.

If the fix is simply closing the door properly, there is no cost involved.
