The C80 code on a Samsung dryer means the appliance has detected that approximately 80% of the exhaust vent path is clogged or restricted. This level of blockage reduces drying efficiency and causes the dryer to work harder than normal. You need to clean the lint filter and inspect the exhaust duct and exterior vent cap to clear the obstruction.

Continued use with a C80 error is not recommended. An 80% vent restriction causes the dryer to run hotter than normal, which increases wear on components and raises the risk of overheating. Heavily restricted vents are also a recognized fire hazard due to lint accumulation in a high-heat environment. Address the blockage before resuming regular use.

If you clean the lint filter and duct yourself, the cost is minimal, typically just the price of a vent cleaning brush kit, which generally runs in the range of $15 to $40. If you hire a professional dryer vent cleaning service, expect to pay roughly $80 to $175 depending on your location and duct length. If damaged flexible duct needs to be replaced with rigid metal duct, materials typically add another $20 to $60.
