The F/02 code means the washer took longer than 8 minutes to drain, which is beyond the control board's acceptable limit. When this happens, the board shuts off the water valves and displays the error. The Sud code typically appears first after 4 minutes, followed by F/02 four minutes later if drainage is still incomplete. The most common causes are a blocked drain hose, a clogged pump filter, or excess suds.

You should not continue running wash cycles while F/02 is active, because the machine will not be draining properly and water may remain in the drum. Repeated attempts without resolving the underlying cause can stress the pump motor. Address the drain restriction first before running another cycle.

If the fix is as simple as clearing a kinked hose or cleaning the pump filter, there may be no parts cost at all. If the drain pump needs to be replaced, parts and labor combined typically range from $150 to $350 depending on the model and local labor rates.
