A simple reset may temporarily clear the code from the display, but it will not resolve the underlying suds buildup inside the drum. The error is likely to return on the next cycle if excess detergent or residue is still present. Running RINSE/SPIN and NORMAL cycles without detergent is the correct way to clear the condition properly.

In most cases, F88 costs nothing to resolve since it only requires changing detergent habits and running a few cycles without soap.
