The DEMO MODE indicator on an Electrolux dryer signals that the unit has been placed into a retail demonstration state. In this mode, the dryer runs a repeating, scripted cycle designed to simulate normal operation for display purposes in a showroom environment. The drum may tumble, the controls respond, and indicators light up, but the appliance does not produce heat and does not function as it would during actual laundry drying. This mode is intentionally programmed into the dryer's control board firmware to allow retailers to showcase the unit without operating it as a full appliance.

DEMO MODE is entirely a software-level condition stored in the dryer's electronic control board settings. No physical components are damaged or malfunctioning when this code appears. The most common reason a homeowner encounters this mode is an accidental button combination that activates it, or the unit was purchased as a floor model and the demo setting was never cleared before delivery. The dryer will continue repeating its demo cycle indefinitely until the mode is manually exited through the correct button sequence.

To exit DEMO MODE and restore normal operation, press and hold the temperature and dryness buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds. This returns the control board to its factory default operating settings. If the dryer reverts to DEMO MODE repeatedly after being reset, the control board may have a fault affecting its ability to retain settings, though this is uncommon. In most cases, a single reset resolves the issue completely and no parts replacement is required.
