Electrolux Oven Error Code BoLt

The BoLt code means the boiler water loading process timed out before the boiler reached the required water level. The oven stopped the current cycle to prevent damage to the boiler heating element. Causes include a closed water supply valve, water with very low mineral conductivity, a disconnected sensor cable, or a misaligned Teflon sensor sleeve. Checking the water supply and inlet connections is the recommended first step.

The oven stops the affected cycle automatically when the BoLt code appears, which protects the boiler from running dry. Dry-firing the boiler heating element can cause permanent damage. You should not attempt to bypass the error or force a boiler-dependent cycle to run until the underlying cause has been identified and corrected.

A power reset may temporarily clear the BoLt code, but the error will return as soon as the oven attempts to run a boiler-dependent cycle again if the root cause has not been resolved. Resetting without fixing the underlying issue, such as low water conductivity or a disconnected sensor cable, will not prevent the timeout from recurring. Permanent resolution requires diagnosing and correcting the specific cause.

Several causes of the BoLt error are accessible to a knowledgeable DIYer. Confirming the water supply valve is open, checking water pressure, and testing water conductivity with an inexpensive meter are straightforward tasks. Inspecting connector X25 on the ACU and repositioning a slipped Teflon sensor sleeve are also feasible if you are comfortable accessing the interior of the appliance. However, adjusting service parameters such as parameter 379 or replacing the EV5 valve may require technical familiarity with the control system.

If the fix is simply opening a water supply valve or adjusting a sensor parameter, there may be no parts cost at all, though a service call to adjust ACU parameters typically runs in the range of $80 to $150. If the EV5 water inlet valve requires replacement, parts and labor combined generally range from $150 to $350 depending on your location and service provider. More complex wiring harness repairs can push costs higher.
