Electrolux Oven Error Code F14
Misconnected flat cable
Misconnected flat cable: the User Interface Board does not see the glass touch panel as being well connected (4 flat cables).
First step from the service manual
Check the 4 flat cable connections between the User Interface Board (J4, J6, J8, J9) and the touch panel; make sure cables are fully inserted into connectors, check for bent pins and verify cable integrity.
The complete diagnostic procedure includes additional test steps, resistance specifications, wiring diagram references, and component test points.

What F14 means on a Electrolux oven
The F14 error code on an Electrolux oven indicates a misconnection fault between the User Interface Board and the glass touch panel. The User Interface Board communicates with the touch panel through four flat ribbon cables, which connect at board connectors labeled J4, J6, J8, and J9. When the board cannot establish a proper signal with the touch panel across these connections, it registers F14 to alert the technician that communication has been interrupted or degraded.
The most common trigger for this fault is a flat cable that has partially unseated from its connector, either due to vibration over time, a previous repair where cables were disturbed, or a cable that was never fully seated during assembly. Flat ribbon cables are particularly sensitive to partial insertions, as even a slight misalignment can break continuity across one or more signal lines. Bent or damaged pins at the connector housing, as well as visible creasing, tearing, or delamination along the cable itself, can also produce this fault.
Because four separate cables are involved, the diagnostic process requires inspecting each connector individually. A cable that appears seated visually may still be loose, so firm reseating of all four cables at both the board and touch panel ends is the recommended starting point. If reseating does not resolve the fault, each cable should be inspected closely for physical damage. A damaged cable or a User Interface Board with compromised connector pins will require part replacement to clear the fault.

Common causes of F14
- 01
Partially unseated flat cable connector
Wiring / connectionOne or more of the four flat ribbon cables at connectors J4, J6, J8, or J9 has backed out slightly from its housing, breaking the signal path. Firmly reseating all four cables at both ends is the first corrective step.
- 02
Damaged or creased flat cable
Part replacementA ribbon cable that has been kinked, creased, or torn will fail to carry a reliable signal even when its connectors appear fully seated. Inspect each cable along its entire length for visible damage.
- 03
Bent or damaged connector pins on the User Interface Board
Part replacementPins inside connectors J4, J6, J8, or J9 on the User Interface Board can become bent during servicing or from repeated cable insertions, preventing a solid electrical contact. Inspect each connector housing carefully under good lighting.
- 04
Cable disturbed during a previous repair
Wiring / connectionIf the oven has been serviced before, a flat cable may have been incompletely reinstalled. Check that every cable is fully clicked or pressed into its locking connector housing with no portion of the cable exposed at the insertion point.
- 05
Faulty User Interface Board
Part replacementIf all four cables are confirmed to be undamaged and fully seated and the fault persists, the User Interface Board itself may have an internal failure at one or more of its flat cable connectors, requiring board replacement.
