Electrolux Oven Error Code RR

RR is a user alert indicating that oven racks and/or oven rack supports were not removed before the self-cleaning cycle was started. The oven prevents the high-heat cycle from running in order to protect those components from heat damage. This is not a malfunction or part failure. Removing the racks and restarting the cycle will clear the code.

Simply resetting or power-cycling the oven will not permanently resolve the RR alert if the racks are still in place, because the code will return as soon as the self-clean cycle is initiated again. The only way to clear it for good is to remove the racks and rack supports before starting the cycle.

There is no repair cost associated with the RR code in the vast majority of cases, since it only requires removing the racks before restarting the self-clean cycle. If racks were previously damaged by exposure to self-clean temperatures, replacement oven racks typically cost in the range of $20 to $60 per rack depending on the model.

Open the oven door and remove all racks and any removable rack support hardware from inside the cavity. Once the oven interior is completely clear, close the door and restart the self-cleaning cycle. The RR code should not reappear as long as no racks or supports remain inside.

RR itself is a protective alert, not a sign of a dangerous malfunction. The oven is functioning correctly by stopping the self-clean cycle before exposing standard racks to temperatures they are not designed to handle. Proceeding with racks inside could cause warping and permanent finish damage to the racks, but the alert is designed to prevent exactly that scenario.
