Electrolux Range Error Code E39

E39 means the range has detected a configuration mismatch between the User Interface Board (UIB) and the filter board. These two control boards exchange configuration data during startup, and when they do not match, the range generates this error code. It is most frequently seen after a filter board replacement but can also result from a loose wiring connection between the two boards.

A power reset by unplugging the range or shutting off the circuit breaker for a few minutes may temporarily clear the error, but it will return if the underlying cause is not addressed. If there is a genuine configuration mismatch or a hardware incompatibility between the UIB and filter board, the error will reappear on the next startup.

Repair costs vary depending on which component needs to be replaced. A service call and diagnostic visit alone can range from $75 to $150. If a filter board or UIB replacement is needed, parts can range from $100 to $300 or more depending on the model, with total repair costs including labor typically falling between $200 and $500.

The first step you can take yourself is checking that all wiring harness connections between the UIB and filter board are fully and firmly seated. If the error appeared after a recent filter board replacement, confirm that the correct replacement part was used. Beyond inspecting connections, resolving a true configuration mismatch or replacing a faulty board typically requires a qualified technician.

It is not advisable to continue using the range while E39 is active. The error indicates that two critical control boards are not communicating correctly, which could result in unpredictable behavior from the control system. The range should be diagnosed and repaired before being returned to normal use.
