Haier Washer Error Code Err9

Err9 means the washer has detected a loss of communication between the display board and the touch board. These two internal control boards must exchange signals continuously for the machine to operate. When that signal is lost, the washer stops and displays Err9 to alert you to the problem.

A reset may temporarily clear the error, but if the underlying connection problem is still present, Err9 will return once the washer tries to operate again. A reset is useful for confirming whether the fault is intermittent, but it does not fix the root cause.

If only a connector needs to be reseated, there may be no parts cost at all. Replacing a wiring harness typically falls in the range of $20 to $80 for parts. If a display board or touch board needs replacement, parts and labor combined can range from $100 to $300 or more depending on the specific model and service rates in your area.

Start by unplugging the washer and locating the connectors between the display board and touch board. Reseat both ends of the connector firmly and inspect the pins for damage or corrosion. If the connections are secure and the error returns, the wiring harness or one of the boards may need to be replaced.

You should not attempt to run the washer while Err9 is active. The machine has halted because its control boards cannot communicate reliably, which means inputs from the control panel may not be processed correctly. Continuing to use the washer in this state could lead to unpredictable behavior.
