What FEE7-0 means on a Jenn-Air oven
The FEE7-0 error code on a Jenn-Air oven indicates an open circuit condition in the main cavity broil element. An open circuit means the electrical path through the broil element has been broken, so current cannot flow through it. The Appliance Control Unit (ACU) monitors the broil element circuit and triggers this fault when it detects the interruption. Without a complete circuit, the broil element cannot generate heat, making broiling functions unavailable until the fault is resolved.
The most common physical cause of this fault is a condition technicians refer to as "unzipping," where the heating coil inside the broil element separates or burns through at one or more points. This break in the coil creates the open circuit the ACU detects. Unzipping typically appears as a visible split, crack, or blistering along the element's surface, and is often accompanied by burn marks or a break in the coil visible to the eye.
Beyond element failure itself, loose or corroded connector terminals at either the element's end connectors or at the ACU can also interrupt the circuit and produce this code. Before condemning the element, all wiring connections at both the element terminals and the ACU should be inspected and firmly reseated. A connection that appears intact visually may still have high resistance or intermittent continuity due to corrosion or heat damage at the terminal.

Common causes of FEE7-0
- 01
Broil element open circuit (unzipping)
Part replacementThe broil element's internal heating coil has burned through or separated, breaking the electrical circuit. Visually inspect the element for cracks, splits, blistering, or a visible break in the coil.
- 02
Loose or disconnected element terminal connections
Wiring / connectionThe wiring connectors at the broil element's terminals may have backed out or loosened due to heat cycling. Pulling each connector off and firmly reseating it can restore continuity if no element damage is present.
- 03
Corroded or damaged wiring at element terminals
Part replacementHeat exposure over time can corrode or melt the terminal connectors where the wiring meets the broil element. Inspect the connectors for discoloration, pitting, or melted insulation that would prevent solid electrical contact.
- 04
Loose or unseated connection at the ACU
Wiring / connectionThe wiring harness connector at the ACU that carries the broil element circuit may not be fully seated. Inspect the ACU-side connectors and press them firmly into place to ensure full contact.
- 05
Damaged wiring in the broil element circuit
Part replacementThe wiring between the ACU and the broil element may have chafed, burned, or broken somewhere along its run. Trace the circuit wiring visually for any sign of damage, especially near areas exposed to oven heat.
