Error code 74 on a Kenmore induction range indicates an internal generator communication error on the right side of the Induction Housing Assembly. The control system cannot establish a valid communication link between the Large Filter Circuit Board and the Right Side Generator Circuit Board. As a result, the right side cooking zones are disabled until the fault is resolved.

The range disables the affected right side cooking zones when error 74 is active, so those burners will not operate. Left side zones may still function, but it is not recommended to continue heavy use of the appliance with an active fault code present. The underlying communication failure should be diagnosed and repaired promptly to prevent potential further damage to the induction system.
