The washer will interrupt the cycle to prevent damage from excessive rocking or tipping.

You should not continue running the washer while the E5 error is active. An unlevel washer can walk across the floor, damage water connections, and cause excessive wear on internal components. If the impact switch has failed, the machine loses a key safety input that helps prevent tipping during high-speed spin cycles. Resolve the cause of the error before resuming use.

If the fix is simply adjusting the leveling feet, there is no parts cost involved. If the impact switch needs to be replaced, parts costs typically range from around $15 to $50 depending on the specific component, with additional labor costs if a technician performs the repair. Wiring harness repairs, if needed, can vary depending on the extent of the damage.
