Polar Refrigerator Error Code Flash 10

Flash 10 means the refrigerator has lost communication between the user interface board and the main control board. These two components need to exchange signals continuously for the unit to operate correctly. The fault is most often caused by a loose or damaged blue wire connecting pin P1-14 on the main control board to pin P1-3 on the user interface board.

A Flash 10 fault indicates the control boards cannot communicate, which means normal temperature regulation and operational commands may not be functioning reliably. It is not advisable to leave the unit running unattended in this state, as food safety could be compromised if the refrigerator is not cooling properly. Address the fault as soon as possible.

If the fault is caused by a loose connector, the repair involves no parts cost and only a small amount of labor time. If the blue communication wire needs replacement, parts costs are typically minimal. Replacing either the user interface board or the main control board is more involved, and total repair costs including parts and labor can range from roughly $150 to $400 or more depending on parts availability and local labor rates.

Start by locating the blue wire that connects P1-14 on the main control board to P1-3 on the user interface board, and firmly reseat both connectors. Inspect the wire along its full length for any visible damage such as pinching or breaks. If the connections and wiring are secure and undamaged, one of the two boards may need to be replaced, and further diagnosis is required to determine which one has failed.

A power reset may temporarily clear the displayed fault, but if the underlying cause such as a loose connector, damaged wire, or failed board is still present, the Flash 10 error will return. A reset is not a repair. The root cause of the communication failure must be corrected for the fault to clear permanently.
