Resetting the unit without correcting the underlying power supply issue will not permanently clear Flash 8. The code is triggered by a live undervoltage condition, so the fault will return as long as the input voltage remains below 12.0 VDC. The power source or wiring must be corrected first.

The cost depends entirely on what is causing the low voltage condition. If the fix is simply recharging a battery or cleaning corroded terminals, the cost may be minimal. Replacing wiring, a battery, a charge controller, or a power supply can range from around $20 to several hundred dollars depending on the components involved.
