The OE code on a Samsung dishwasher stands for over-level water error. It is triggered when the overflow detection sensor reads 4.0V or below for 3 continuous seconds, or when the leakage sensor reads 4.0V or below for 1 second during water supply. The dishwasher shuts down the cycle to prevent flooding. Common causes include a stuck water supply valve, a faulty Flow Meter, or a water leak detected at the base of the unit.

The OE error can indicate an active water leak inside or beneath the dishwasher, which poses a risk of water damage to flooring and cabinetry. Do not continue running the dishwasher until the source of the error has been identified and resolved. If you observe standing water under the unit, shut off the water supply to the dishwasher before proceeding with any inspection.

Repair costs vary depending on the root cause. Clearing debris from the water supply valve is generally low cost if done without professional help.
