Samsung Dishwasher Error Code WE (High Temp)

The WE error code means the dishwasher detected water entering the tub at a temperature of 80°C or above during the water supply phase. The dishwasher stops the cycle automatically to prevent damage. The error points to either a genuinely overheated water supply or a faulty thermistor reporting an incorrect temperature reading to the main control board.

You should not bypass or ignore the WE error and continue running the dishwasher. Water entering at 80°C or above can warp plastic components, damage seals, and potentially cause burns if the door is opened during a cycle. Stop using the appliance until the root cause has been identified and resolved.

Repair costs depend on the cause. If the fix is simply lowering the water heater temperature, there is no parts cost. A thermistor replacement is generally an affordable repair, with parts typically in the range of $20 to $60 and modest labor time. A Main PBA replacement is significantly more expensive, with board costs often ranging from $100 to $300 or more, plus labor if a technician is required.

Some causes of the WE error are DIY-friendly. Checking your home's water heater temperature setting and adjusting it downward is straightforward and requires no tools. If the supply temperature is normal, testing the thermistor requires a multimeter and some comfort with accessing internal dishwasher components. Replacing the Main PBA is more complex and may warrant a professional technician, especially since control boards are relatively expensive parts.

A reset may temporarily clear the WE error code, but it will return if the underlying cause has not been fixed. If the water supply temperature is genuinely too high or the thermistor is defective, the error will reappear as soon as the next fill cycle begins. A reset is useful for confirming whether the fault is persistent, but it is not a repair.
