Samsung Heat Pump Error Code E467

E467 indicates that the indoor unit's Electronic Expansion Valve failed to close and this condition was detected on the second consecutive check cycle. The EEV is a motorized valve that regulates refrigerant flow, and when the control board commands it to close without a proper response, this fault is logged. The system locks out to prevent refrigerant flow imbalances or equipment damage.

A power reset may temporarily clear the fault code, but if the underlying issue with the EEV coil, wiring, or valve body is still present, the error will return. Because E467 is a second-detection fault, the system has already confirmed the problem on two consecutive checks. Resetting without addressing the root cause is not a lasting solution and could delay a repair that prevents further damage.

Repair costs vary depending on what is actually faulty. If the fix is simply reseating the coil or reconnecting a loose wire, labor charges may be modest, typically in the range of $75 to $150 for a service call. If the EEV coil or the full valve assembly needs replacement, parts and labor combined can range from $200 to $600 or more depending on the model and local labor rates. A PCB replacement would generally fall at the higher end of the cost range.

Some basic checks, such as verifying that the EEV coil is fully seated on the valve body and that the wiring connector at the PCB is secure, can be performed by a knowledgeable DIYer with the unit powered down. However, any work involving refrigerant, replacing the EEV assembly, or testing the PCB drive circuit requires a certified HVAC technician. Attempting repairs beyond wiring and seating checks without proper training risks refrigerant exposure and further component damage.

Operating the heat pump while E467 is active is not recommended. A stuck or non-responsive EEV disrupts proper refrigerant flow, which can cause the compressor to run under abnormal conditions and potentially lead to compressor damage or other component failures. The system should remain off until the EEV issue is diagnosed and corrected.
